The Market Event

In response to the cost of living emergency, The Winter Spaces Network was designed by Waltham Forest Council to ensure that there is support available in every corner of Waltham Forest.

The Skills Within Developments CIC are delighted to announce that with funding provided by Waltham Forest Council we will be providing a space for people to relax, meet or socialise in an inclusive and warm environment, whilst enjoying a free hot drink or meal and access important services, if they want to, this winter.

We will also be launching a market at the events, in order to support independent local businesses and provide access to handmade and locally grown products.

The Skills Within Community Living Room at Pepper's Ghost will be open on Thursdays and Fridays 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th March from 12pm until 6pm with music on Friday nights from 8pm provided by The Movement Revolution.  Admittance is free.

We have chosen to host our Community Living Room at a recently reopened major Leyton community hub, Peppers Ghost, which is located on Leyton High Road and we have plenty of fun planned as well as useful things to giveaway.

Information for traders

The market will take place in the outside space of the pub, which is located on the corner of Leyton High Road and Capworth Street.

We expect market trade coming from the marketing of the event (large banner outside venue, posters and leaflets in venue, leaflets in local area, invites to local community groups, social media – already in situ and ongoing), visitors to the event, regular visitors to the pub, passers-by and the location being on a busy High Road.

Timings for the market will coincide with the community living room event:

Thursdays 12-6pm

Fridays 12-6pm

Dates: 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24 March

We welcome you to join us at a special introductory rate of £30 for one day or £50 two consecutive days in the same week.

Price includes: 6ft trestle table, gazebo 2m sq., marketing & promotion, a complimentary hot drink and hot meal from our community living room.
