Supporting Waltham Forest
Community Living Room Network

In response to the pressing cost of living emergency, The Winter Spaces Network was thoughtfully created by Waltham Forest Council to ensure that support is accessible in every corner of Waltham Forest..

Our Mission

With generous funding provided by the Waltham Forest Council, we are proud to offer a space fo residents to relax, connect, and socialize within an inclusive and warm environment. Throughout the month of March 2023, we provided a warm and welcoming space at Pepper's Ghost in Leyton where you could enjoy a free hot drink and meal while accessing essential services if desired.

Our Partners in Compassion

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Pepper's Ghost & The Hornbeam Centre, who graciously opened the doors of their pub and kitchen to support our cause. Thanks to their unwavering support, we continued to provide this vital service on Thursdays and Fridays from April until June 2023, when additional funding from the Waltham Forest Council allowed us to secure The Hornbeam Centre as our new home for this beloved community initiative.

Why We Exist

Londoners are worse hit by the cost of living crisis than the UK average and the effects of this in winter means that some will have no heating, a shortage of warm clothing, personal products, money and food.

How You Can Make a Difference

We are actively collecting various items, ranging from coats and sweaters to personal hygiene products, games, and even unwanted Christmas gifts. Your donations will be distributed to those in need who will greatly appreciate your generosity. We humbly ask for your support in any way you can.

Join Our Cause

Beyond product donations, we are also in search of dedicated volunteers to lend a helping hand to this worthy project. Your time and effort can make a profound impact on the lives of our community members.

Get Involved

If you'd like to contribute items, please feel free to drop them off in Leyton. To arrange a drop-off or for more information, please contact us at 07985 122654.

The Hornbeam: Our New Home

We are thrilled to announce that The Hornbeam Centre is now the cherished new home of our community initiative. Together, we can continue to make a positive difference in the lives of those facing hardships during these challenging times.

Thank you for your support and dedication to our shared mission of creating a warmer and more connected community for all. Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of those in need.
